I ran to the gate near Rajazan, not having done "befriending the Kurziks". The gates were closed and I talked to the gate keeper expecting a "you rotten luxon scum" type of message. He muttered something stoic about an acorn i the woods falling, letting him know he'd meet me today. And the gates didn't open.
Oddly enough, I am part of a Kurzik guild, but have very little kurzik faction (certainly less than my luxon faction).
To my knowledge, you can't get into the 2nd half of the Kurzik area unless you have done the befriending quest.
Edit: does it matter that the luxons had control of the temple at the time?

it DOES make a difference as a matter of fact, you can't get into the other side if you haven't dont the befriending quest for that side. If you are a luxon and go up to kurzick unwaking waters, it wont work, likewise with kurzick, reguardless of your luxon faction and guild status, the luxons will view you as a "servant of the kurzicks" and they wont allow you in.

Tested some new bosses. All of which unfortunately ended in failure for solo.
Snapjaw Windshell
Extremely hard, even if you get past the oni patrols in front of him.
Zarnas Stonewrath
Not a snowball's chance in hell, he does massive dmg, just spamming stone daggers could cause a quick kill, and once you get close enough to touch he uses shockwave and mauls you.
KaySey Stormray
For solo, impossable, duel run, maybe possable, banish from her does about 116 damage, and balthazar's aura does 54 per second, you wouldn't survive trying to solo.

Yes, but how would you deal with the mob he's in, a mix of carps, scuttles, and irukandjis?

every four seconds, you would be hit by banish for 116 anyway, weather you interrupted it or not, it wouldnt matter.

Scourgewind, Elder Guardian
Drops: Scourgewind's Branch
20/20 Smiting Prayers spells
Smiting Prayers +1 (20%)
Health +30
Rating: Easy/Medium
Time: 10 Minutes
Location: Silent Surf
How To: Exit Leviathan Pits into Silent Surf. Follow the path to the right to your target.
You can visit the Luxon Priest to get a blessing (+25HP and +3 health regen) for 100g, but it is not necessary.
You have two choices, kill the Rot Wallows by luring them back to the Luxon shrine, a guard will help you kill them and the priest will heal you.
Or, you can brave it and pull Scourgewind from the Rot Wallows. Picture 3 shows the safe spot where you can pull him to. Move back any further and Scourgewind will break aggro. Usually, the Rot Wallows will just be outside your aggro during their patrol. This is too close for comfort for me and I found it easier to just kill all the Rot Wallows.
Before attacking or pulling (anyone), kick off Troll Ungent. Watch your energy and keep your defenses up. Throw Dirt does help.
Picture 1: Successful kill (with blessing).
Picture 2: Successful kill (no blessing, one death, and one green... guess he didn't like being touched again so soon and gave it up quickly ).
Picture 3: Safe spot - possible place to stand.

Oh well, it won't make a difference anyway. Getting 10k Luxon faction will take about an hour if you just take a trip to Fort Aspenwood over the weekend.
You actually tried to kill Stonewrath!? I went to kill the monk boss on the other side of him and he tears you to shreds just running past! 44 x 2 damage Stone Daggers and a Shockwave doing well over 200. He might be possible as a normal ranger though R/Me. Using Elemental Resistance and Melandrus Arrows, shouldn't be too hard to hit his Stone Daggers with a distracting shot... he spams it a ton. If not... cower behind the wall and heal up
I gave Sunreach a go solo... i killed the few groups of Wardens and Rot Wallows/Blood Drinkers nearby him. His group however wouldn't follow far enough. Whatever i tried they'd stop running after me before the second corner leaving no chance of getting him stuck against the wall.

I've tried it. The problem is that he comes along w/ two carp and a scuttle fish. You certainly want to interrupt his Banish and Balth's, but the scuttle fish is also casting Balth's and the Carp aren't sitting there watching. So at some point you'll be standing in Balth's, bleeding, and getting wanded by Keysay and the scuttle. Even with a lot of energy you can't keep it up forever and eventually Keysay's Banish/Balth's will recharge.
I figure even for a dual team it would be tough. Though my plan of attack would be to take out the scuttle while the other touchie distracts that damn Banish from Keysay. The carp are just annoyances after that and should be removed by the toucher that takes out the scuttle. Then dual team old Keysay.

I've killed Stonewrath with a R/Me. It's pretty simple... you use running skills to get through that mob of wardens. Then kill the necro boss with Empathy + Backfire. Then Stonewrath by hiding so his stone daggers never hit you. Just using Backfire + Shatter Enchantment you can kill him. He's got huge HP too... around 2k as far as I can tell since he can cast through backfire like 8 times and only be 1/4-1/3 down on health.
I'll post a pic when I dig up the thread. It was from about a week or two after Factions was released.
EDIT: After much searching...

Not sure if anyone's used this before or thought of it, but I've gone through quite a few bosses using Life Siphon to help keep up with health loss during stance downtimes. Provided, you need the spare 10e, but it's till managable. I've torn through Jacqui the Reaver using it quite a few times, about 20+ at this point. Only problem is he never drops his Aegis. Doh!

Some thoughts on how to do this...
R/N (interrupter/toucher)
Offering of Blood {E}
Vamp Touch
Vamp Bite
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Whirling Defenses
Lightning Reflexes (maybe throw dirt)
Strip Enchantment (for that occasion when Keysay gets a Balth's off)
R/N (toucher)
Offering of Blood {E}
Vamp Touch
Vamp Bite
Whirling Defenses
Throw Dirt
Lightning Reflexes
Plague Touch
The interrupter should probably have a shortbow.
Weaknesses:
If things go badly there's no running away.
Interrupter has no plague touch.
Untested.

I don't understand why Rahse Windcatcher is "easy", maybe I'm just stupid, but I can't get rid of him. I can make two mobs fight each other, but one way or another, they still kill me.

Will NOT work, KaySey will use her Banish every 10 seconds, and it casts in half a second, SO you would have to use savage or distracting shot BEFORE she casted it, nearly impossable.
